    PUMA POV

Have been playing around with a VIO-POV pencil camera, about the size of a mini maglite. Attached to the truck using magnets ... who said these things were made out of alu?

Btw. anyone know a decent (cheap/free) video editor?

That is awesome SLT, fantastic bit of gear.

The only decent video editors I've seen are exxy, unless you procure one from the www for nothing. I guess you don't have a mac, because imovie is free software, easy to use and can do 90% of what you would need.

The local distributor has it for $600. B&H currently lists it for US$450, I suppose with exchange rate and freight it would work out about the same.

Btw. the actual quality is a fair bit better than you can see on youtube, pretty much DVD quality with 720x480.

Doors, frames, bonnet, even the wasted area under the windscreen where the flaps used to be. Only the roof and wheel guard seem to be made of aluminium.

I think you get what you pay for here.

There are cheaper types on ebay under 'helmet cams'. They record directly to SD/microSD and only cost $50-$80. The downside is the optics are average, the contrast is crappy and the resolution is only 640x480. Still for 'b roll' type shooting, I think they could be pretty good value for money.

GoPro are pretty popular for HD. 720X480 is pretty good though.
