Our Blue-faces have nested in one of our banana trees. This might explain why they're also known as "Banana Birds".
Gang-gangs in the trees near a mate's place in Anglesea.

Another crapy iphone pic sorry but at Mums place my visit isn't complete without the resident Whip Bird coming out for a play in the bird bath. As my caravan is in the front yard this week he's been very shy - have heard him tooling around in the bush opposite where he lives but no visit until tonight. Little bugger is very shy so even standing up in the lounge to take a pic usually scares him off, but I got a pic - as bad as it is you can tell what bird it is. 👍
Anyway, I'm happy now he's come for a tub.

Dave,a couple of those fig birds are actually friar birds[wink11]
Gav,we used to have heaps of Whip birds around here, breeding, but the noisey miners chased them away[bigsad]
The young ones are dark balls of down that live on the ground,i don't know how they survive.
So, it’s been pretty warm up here in Tangambalanga the last couple of days, and a few more to come too 👍.
I arrive home from Melbourne this evening and decided I’d better water 💦 the garden a bit. As I’m doing so, this little fella comes along so he can have a cool off. I tried a few times to capture him in action, but he’s a quick little soul.
Not sure why, but the pics gone on it’s side,,, he must have been drunk too 🤪
lovely little bird that hangs around the yard. it has many lovely little tunes and voices.
