    Canon EOS 7D

The faithful 50D made way for a new and sportier model. I carried 50D around all kinds of place in weather ranging from rain (light) to freezing sub zero temps. She never missed a beat.

But the time always comes when thoughts of new toys pop up. So a 7D was purchased and the 50D assigned to second body status.

I haven't done a lot with the 7D I have a few up on flickr.

I am pretty happy with the camera, I am now on the hunt for EF lenses. I have a CANON EF 24-105MM F4 IS USM on the way. The EF lenses are for the next body upgrade which will be a full frame 5D MK..whatever, Whatever being what number they are up to at the time.

hmmm the 7d looks really nice, its a tad big for me, but I would still like one.

I am considering the 60D, I currently have an old 1000D which has done me proud of just over 60,000 shots and I have a few extra lenses and a nice canon flash to suit.

I have been advised santa may bring a new camera body and the 7d is possibly on the cards as a cheap import, but I am thinking the 60 might be better for me from size/weight?

I have to lug it about a bit, and the iso settings appear the same, I do a bit of low light shooting, horse harness racing under lights at night.

The 7D is a bit bigger than my 50D. All up with a battery grip and my 18-270 the 7D is heavy.

yeah I have spent a little time shooting with a 7d and it just got a bit heavy for me, but I have to admit its one nice camera, its just built beautifully let alone its specs.

The 60d interests me as its the same internals as the 7, just not as many bells n whistles and not as many image processors.

Niiiiiiiiiiiiice! The 7D is a great piece of kit!!!

Weight Smeight...When you start buying better lenses everything is going to get a lot heavier. Honestly, the heavier the better...As long as it's balanced the sway is much easier to control.

I'm itching to get my hands on the 1DX. I'm halfway saved now!

I've got the 7D and love it. Took a bit of getting used to compared to the 500D and now I don't find it big at all. Also have the 24-105 L (which is a fantastic lens) and a 50mm f1.4. Xmas present has just arrived; a canon 10-22mm but I'm not allowed tom touch until xmas day (Damn you SWMBO).

I am keen to try the 24-105 0n the 7D.

No more EF-S lenses for me. I don't want to be limited by my lens choice on the next body upgrade. This is what stopped me going for the 5D this time. The cost in a lens upgrade project and a body is a bit to much at the moment.

But what EF lens after the 24-105? I am going save my pennies and only buy L series glass.

Maybe a wide prime like the...

The 50mm 1.4 gets great reviews, unlike the 1.8.

I got the canon 10-22mm (in lieu of the Sigma 10-20 f3.5 I've had previously) as it's a 77mm as per the 24-105 L; so interchangeable filters.

Haven't used it yet and the Sigma was a great lens. Time will tell.

I bought a 10D to practice on and learn the basics with. I would like to upgrade it (when I can afford to..) to a newer model. But I have recently bought a couple of lenses, which means I have two spare now. I don't know what sort of lenses you are looking for, but I will check what I have and let you know. They are EF fit.

I have the Canon 10-22 it's a good lens. On trip to China last year it was the lens I used the most.

I like the range I have covered now. The Canon 10-22 and the Tamron 18-270 both are EF-S. I would like to cover a similar range with EF lenses. I do like the EF 28-300 but that will have to wait. EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM - Lenses - Canon Australia
