What sought of $$$ our we talking of here?
Well the long awaited 5D MkIII has been officially released today.
Ive been watching and reading the rumours for a long while now, I reckon Canon have just about got it spot on. They've taken all the best bits of the 7D, updated them and kept the full frame from the MkII and then added some of the newer 1DX features and hey presto, the 5D MkIII is born!
I'll be getting one as soon as I canAnyone else thinking of taking the plunge?

Hi All
I have rebuilt about 6 of the 400D, mainly broken pins in the CF slot, also converting one of those to a infra red.
These base model Canons have been a great camera to start with and now I am ready to move on to a better featured camera, the 5D mkIII is now the pick of the bunch as far as I am concerned.
.
I shoot a lot of video with a 5Dmkii and a 7D, I hope they have fixed the rolliing shutter issue.
But some of the new features might place this into my tax return shopping wish list

I have a 5D Mkll and I really enjoy it. I've had it for just over a year. I can see the improvements with the newer model.
I can't justify the upgrade though as I don't actually use the many of the features that are better. I don't use the extremes of ISO. I rarely use the continuous shooting. I don't enlarge bigger than A3+ and so the better resolution is not needed. I don't know how much the newer processor will be.
But I can't help it. I want one.I'll envy those who get a Mklll and I'll spend my money on my Land Rover and trips to go and actually take photos.
A friend has just upgraded from a Mk II to the III.
