Wow, pretty sexy mount - won't come off in a hurry. I like the wind tail vane idea but wonder how it would go on a windy day when I'm driving slowly; may end up facing the wrong direction.
The whole setup isn't cheap either is it?

Just went through the update firmware nightmare with another wifi back. The back itself updated OK but the remote got stuck in some form of loop.
The cineform software could see the remote reported it as updated, but no version available and the remote just had updating with an arrow in the display. (would still turn the camera on/off but no menus)

Few hours hunting on the net a couple of different PCs and I finally got the update to complete this morning. Shouldn't be that hard, selling a product that won't work straight out of the box isn't on.

Just as well they are a good little camera.

how could your computer see it?

your not supposed to update the remote by the computer.

or where you just checking that it had updated or not..

I had no dramas with my firmware updates at all...but I followd the steps to the absolute letter even if I knew I never had to really do something

Computer could see it, as in the cineform software knew there was a remote, identified it as connected to the WiFi back but couldn't retrieve a firmware version.

First one I did a few weeks back had no issues, one thing though, while searching the net for a solution it became obvious I was far from the only one to strike these problems.

btw - "your not supposed to update the remote by the computer."
You ARE updating it through the computer, just the link is via the wifi back, which is USB tethered to the PC, to receive the firmware update.

    as for your BTW..

when I say your not supposed to update through the computer im talking about the remote plugged to USB it causes havoc with the firmware upgrades if you plug it in direct which is why they specifically say dont do it...

I was surprised your computer could see the remote if you were having so many issues, which is why I asked the question I did,
I had a problem stuffing up my very first upgrade (briefly), I could not get the computer to see the remote but it was only because I had missed a minor detail once I did that and tried again all was sweet luckily!!!.
