If there was any photo's put up, maybe the one site could be used and then at maximum resolution possible.

We could use flickr, it offers the possibility to upload large files.

I have been looking around and found these test charts on eBay.

To standardise any test, the same subject would be a good starting point.

    I have purchased the 24-105 USM L.

I made my choice because of the bargain price it was offered for, 850 USD brand new.

I will be receiving it early next week. Pictures will posted soon.

You should be happy with your choice. It is my most often used lens.

    Newbe

I had a 40D and a 24 -70 F2.8 lense that I bought to take pictures for my work. Never got into photography really - never had the eye....

I just did a big trip to the cape with a mate who is into photography and we spend may hours just playing and I found tht photography is fun so madly reading books and stuff

40D was ok but though if im getting serious lets get serios so 1just purchased a 5D MkIII and the 70 - 200 F2.8 USM II lense and even though i have little clue as to what im doing all I can say is WOW... what a lense, what a camera and im taking pictures that amaze me - even though I dont know fully what I am doing. I am using M mode mostly with Av ocsionally and loving it....

so If the finances can cope with it - I recomend the 70 to 200.... for what my opinion is worth.

It all comes down to what you're shooting... I have the 70-200 IS USM I, but it's rarely used as I don't shoot sport so much...

My most used lenses are the 17-40 and 24-70.

The thing with SLR's is one size never fits all.

Yeah Im learning that, i have the two lenses, the 24-70 and 70 - 200 so i have from 24 - 200... (im sure it dont work that way)

I like the 70- 200 as I can take pictures of my mates in the nissans and toyotas far behind me trying to get up the hill i just did...

    (ohhhh cheap shot !!! )
Seriously though - cannon make some great gear.... im even impressed with the video - can throw the old cam corder out as well...

I just received the lens today, I must say that I am pretty amazed of the lens and the quality of the few pictures I shot. I was testing the Image stabilizer, it is very useful.

I will wait till the week-end to truly put the lens to the test.
