    Star trails time lapse

Here’s another view of the star trail pic I did at Pebbly Beach but this time as a time lapse of 179 pictures. 23 seconds = ~ 3 hours.

Best viewed fullscreen, lights off, set the quality to 720.

No, the camera was set up to take one 30 sec exposure every 45 seconds. The 23 seconds is the length of the time lapse video which represents 179 pictures taken over ~ 3 hours.

BTW I used the new wired remote I mentioned in your recent thread.

Excellent picture, looks great, but can I ask, why did you take the piccy the way you did rather than just put the camera on "Bulb" and leave the shutter open.!!

presumably the photo posted was done on bulb????

you cant do a time lapse on bulb....that would just be a really long exposure

Theoretically you could use bulb for one long exposure but then everything would have to be perfect for 3 hours. No movement in the camera, torches, people walking past, etc. As it was I had to delete 20 or so frames due to headlights in the trees, torches, etc.

And hope that 3hrs introduced no noise into the exposure
