    Canon EF-S 10-18mm f/4.5-5.6 IS STM

This new wide angle lens specially designed for the APS-C cameras has hit the market with a bargain price of 300 USD.

What do you think, is it worth buying?

That would go nicely with my sigma 17-70mm, 17mm is just not wide enough at approx. 28mm - price is good at USD300.

What I don't like is the f/stop of this lens, it is slow.

True but its aimed at landscape use so a large aperture is not required, and if it was 2.8-4.0 it would be triple the price.

    interesting looking lens!

300 USD?? Cheap even at F4.5

I have a tokina 11-16 that I typically run at 3.5-4, wonder how it compares to that.

And I found one under the Christmas tree

Took it for a couple of shot test.

I am quiet happy with the result, what do you think?

Good sharp image and good colour as you would expect from a canon lens.

I have the Canon 10-22 which I don't think is anywhere near as good as the Sigma equivalent (which I had and was stolen ) and I can't see this one being any better. As the guy said; Canon need an L series in this focal length.

An L series in this range would definitely cost something like 1500 USD if it is offered with a high aperture. Add another 1000 USD for a lower aperture model.
