I'm also interested in one.
Any of you guys using a carbon tripod
If so what do you have and are you happy with it?
I'm looking to get one because I have currently been lugging my Ali one around and it's getting a bit much.
I have looked at the travel ones but they don't seem to carry a lot of weight?

Ron I just posted this on the photography group on Facebook and it appears most members are using Sirui
Apparently along the same lines as RRS but not as expensive.

I would like one too but my tried and true Manfrotto 190XPROB refuses to die. Heavy (ish) has its advantages in being stable.

Yay! I'm using a 190 too! Only with a 141RC head. I've had it for almost 20 years and the thing is still going strong.
The old rule with tripods is "Light, cheap, stable - Pick 2."
After many complaints from the wife about the weight of the old alloy tripod,we ended up with a Gitzo, fantastic, very light and stable, but also the leg adjustments are easy and quick to use.
The Gitzo we have will carry about 20kg from memory.

Gitzo are owned by Manfrotto or vice versa so cant go wrong with either.

I have a Manfrotto 055XPRO just carrying the bloody thing on a bush walk is becoming a punish hence why I'm looking at carbon fibre. I just had a guy offer me a carbon Manfrotto 190 for $180 looks in good Nik in the pic. But I still think might be a tad big
