    Comet C/2024 G3 (Atlas)

    Sun-skirting comet.

I am considering making my way up to Somerset Lookout in the D'Aguilar National Park tomorrow afternoon (late). WEATHER PERMITTING!!!! IF IT IS RAINING OR COMPLETELY OVERCAST I'M NOT GOING.
I know, I know late notice AGAIN.
From the information I have gleaned this comet will be visible to the naked eye just after sunset looking to the west.
    But will set soon after.

I have posted in here because I will be taking gear and attempting to photograph said comet.

If anyone wants to join me by all means come along. It does require 4WD to access this lookout, so if you have to bring the Camry then I could meet you at "The Gantry" and ferry you in and out.

I would like to be in position to perhaps get some sunset shots before hand, so would be passing The Gantry at approx. 1800. Sunset is at 1847.

    PM if interested.

Well it is not lookiing good for this evening.

The circled area is where the lookout is located and the line of rain to the south is moving north.

If this doesn't clear by 1700 when I plan to leave then I will call it off.

Put the drone up at the lookout and took this, was going to do a big pan video but started to rain so drone in and back in car.

    No comet.
