Nice and sharp pics there dullbird, i have just bought a sigma 17-70 2.8/4 lens so when i get it i'll post some pics. I was torn between the tamron 17-50 2.8 and the sigma and in the end i was offered the sigma for a price i couldnt refuse plus the 17mm wide end equates to 28mm on my canon.

It's highly likely that Nikon will replace the 70-200 f/2.8 VR with a new one later this year, if the rumours are to be believed. If they do you may well pick up one of the older ones a lot cheaper than current prices. These are a brilliant lens. The 80-200 is the grandfather to it and also very good but lacks the VR.

    dullbird,

Visit this site if you already haven't www.kenrockwell.com he writes reviews continously on anything photographic, he also has links to other photographers. Caution though he does dribble on some times, you may need to ignore that.
I like his work he captures great colour and is free with tech info, worth a look.
