What software to process RAW files?

With a little help from Canon CHDK I can now shoot RAW on my S5. (Whooo hooo!) (Canon users may find this interesting: http://chdk.wikia.com/wiki/CHDK_in_Brief )

So what software is everyone using to process RAW?

Nikon CaptureNX or ACR (Adobe Capture Raw - in Photoshop).

Depends on what I'm doing. Probably going to also get Lightroom or Aperture (undecided still).

If you haven't got Photoshop CS3 or PS Elements 5 or later then ACR might not work with the S5 raw files, just depends.

There are some good books on RAW processing and some eGuides you can look through on the web.

I use Lightroom. I also have Bibble. And then there's Aperture and Capture One, and the manufactuer-supplied programs. Those are some of the serious programs. Many other programs also do RAW processing, eg ACDSee Pro, or can load RAW files, but these non-specialsits tend to be inferior in terms of processing output and speed of workflow.

Iphoto handles them too. Obviously it's only a basic package.

Myself, I tried a few, but as far as Integration, File management , Features and Ease of Use, I fell in love with Aperture 2.1,
    I even payed the $268.00 for it...And that says a Lot !

I use Lightroom for the bulk processing of RAW files (nikon ) and CS3 for tweaks. Very happy with both
