Thanks Lou. I've got a few of them from up there - but that's one of the better ones (more by good luck than good management). We get plenty of opportunities to try our luck.

Teaching myself how to do star trails. Looking south, 134 x 30 second exposures at 10mm, ISO400, F3.5. Biggest issue was focusing. Had to take umpteen shots then zooming in on playback and fiddle with the focus.

I think the planes make an interesting contrast to the stars. The gaps in the plane trails were caused by my laptop doing weird things.

A crack at HDR using Photomatix. A pier near Newport, Melb this week.
