That's a great shot Dave.
If I may be so bold, you should have let it bite you first and then placed it half way between where it is and the right hand edge.

Getting DOF with a dandelion isn't that easy.

That's really striking Ron. It looks like a Star Shell exploding and I've seen a lot of Star Shells.

Nice work Ron!
They are fun to play around with and you are tight getting the DOF right is not easy.... particularly if there is a little wind around.
They are fun to play around with in post too...
Not sure if I prefer this version:

I like the Colour versions. Also like the variations in DOF. Each one is unique. It's also nice to have a spectacle without my ears ringing.

Last week I took my old man out to Werribee Zoo. He bought his first Nikon, when were on the ship coming to Aus. in 1964, but he struggles a little now days particularly if he has to hurry.
I took him on the Offroad Safari they have there.... in an open truck - right up close to the animals with plenty of time to take photos - He had a fantastic time, and I managed to grab a couple of decent shots while we were at it....

Melbourne Nighscape
Firstly apologies for all my other images going missing on this thread due to Photobucket's stupid ransom demands.
Anyway, I've joined Flickr so hopefully that debacle won't happen again but I just need to work out how to do a smooth upload.
Here's a recent shot from Melbourne
