    Good filter brands

    SO

I'm looking at getting a grad filter, possibly a star filter and 1 or 2 others....

What brands are out there worth using?

I know there is HOYA and KENKO....any others?

For Grad's you really are better off with the drop in Cokin style filters as you can place the graduation over less than half the lens.

Brand wise my preference is for B+W over Hoya for the screw on filters.

    agree with DM...

if you get the larger sized cokins they will suit any lens you upgrade to in the future (i.e 70mm+ diameter) think about a small collection of the Z-pro series... or... play with graduations in PS...

    B+W = $$$ but top quality

What isn't said is these can make B+W look cheap, especially Singh-Ray. But they are the top end filter glass.
