Yellow Waters, Kakadu.

The dawn cruise is a bit of a bunfight with people everywhere trying to get their "shot" so it was a bit of a struggle to take something without camera lenses or heads in the way.



This is the reflected glow of sunrise at Katherine Gorge.

Sunrise, midwinter, from Wright's Lookout, New England NP.


Looking past Dorrigo plateau towards Coffs Harbour.
Four row panorama, 16 shots each row, focus-stacked for closer objects. 325 photographs altogether, 12 minutes to shoot the sequence, top left to bottom right. Exposure manually varied during sequence to compensate for increasing light levels as sun rose, shot at f/11, shutter from 1/15 to 1/125. Grass at right foreground is about 1.5 metres from lens, bush at left about the same. Detail is exceptional at print size, as would be expected.
Camera: Nikon D3s, 105mm f/2.5 AI-s manual focus lens. Print size at native resolution (not resized) 138x60cm @ 288ppi.

The following 'graphs were taken over about half an hour on 22nd August while travelling at around 70kph on a rough road in Serengetti NP. We couldnt stop as it is forbidden to travel after sunset and we still had a few k's to do before we reached our camp.
All were taken with a P&S Canon G12. It was a bit difficult to hold steady while travelling so apologies for the non-horizontal horizon on some shots.

Alan, which kind of tripod head are you using?
Very nice work, a print will do justice.
