    Well I bit the bullet and went with the Canon Ixus 110IS.
    It's just a little bigger than the absolutely tiny Ixus 100IS but in the end I couldn't go past the 28mm wide zoom. Just gave it a quick test and it gives the usual amazingly good Canon quality shots, at night, in the dark without the flash on. The battery is on charge now so rather than post half a dozen shots of my feet and desk I will probably have a better play tomorrow and post some test shots of something more interesting.
