As also seen with visible-light photography, vignetting at the shortest end of the zooming range was plainly visibe in IR. Average all rounder is the 18-200 Nikkor. Best you can get is the 24-70 f/2.8 Nikkor - this is the primary lens I use and has unbelievable quality but is $$$'s (actually its worth a lot mre than a D90 come to think of it)
