Time to order gear from the USA

I just placed an order for some more panorama gear with Really Right Stuff. The US$ is at a great exchange rate and it only cost me about 13% more in AU$'s

This will enable me to do multi-row panoramas

Next thing will be Land Rover gear from the UK I suspect though.

As much as I'd like one - really like one - I can't see myself ever owning a lens that big and that expensive. Just the logistics of transporting it and then I'd need to buy a swing head and a better tripod and... never mind trying to sneak it in to the house past the other half

Well the interest rate hike just lifted our dollar another 1.3% against the USD. Nearly $0.89 now.

I already have a PCL-1 and 192-MPR so I've bought this component kit: Ultimate Omni-Pivot Pkg - LONG - Kit
... to upgrade it to the equivalent of this: Ultimate-Pro Omni-Pivot Pkg - LONG - Kit

I also bought one of their dual axis level's that slides in to the hot shoe: RRS-337

Their gear isn't cheap, but the quality is absolutely fantastic.

Is normal camera gear cheaper over there than here? Like if I wanted a nikon XXX lense would it be cheaper to order from the states?
