Need to replace my camera backpack

Just been cleaning out the LowePro MiniTrekker AW I've had for several years and noticed it's not going to last much longer. Can't complain it's served me very well. The only thing is it's now a little bit smaller than I'd like in depth.

Can anyone recommend anything similar but every so slightly bigger?

I was browsing the LowePro site and the Pro Trekker 300 AW looks good but I think it may be too big.

I'm flying out to Cairns in a weeks time and I know Camera House over there stocks a reasonable range (usually) so I'm hoping to look at a few option.

Backpacks aren't the best things to buy online without trying first.

I've been looking for a new bag since I got my new camera and have come to the conclusion that I think I need something based on Time Lord technology. Everything I've looked at so far that can fit 3 lenses (inc 70-400), 2 bodies and a flash unit, seems too big to carry around all the time (and also screams 'steal me!').

Andrew, have a look at the LowePro Minitrekker AW (like I've worn out). I carry 14-24 f/2.8, 24-70 f/2.8, 70-200 f/2.8, D200, SB-800, TC-17 and a few other bits and pieces like filters etc. It's also nice and plain. Keep your eye out and you'll probably see someone with one and realise you wouldn't give it a second thought, just another basic black backpack.

Mine's been round the world twice, all over australia, and done too many miles in the back of a 4WD to count.

Thanks. I'm actually after a shoulder bag though. I have a Lowepro backpack that's similar but I find it annoying because I can't change lenses/cameras on the move. The backpack has to be put down somewhere before I can open it.

If you see a Pro Trekker 300 AW whilst you're browsing can you give me some feedback?

    Derek,
    Have you looked at Crumpler?

Ive had two now (the first one I out-grew). Very comfortable when on your back, strong, good weather proofing and a bit more funky looking than a suitcase on your back!!

As with everything worthwhile, not cheap though...
