I've been watching a Viet cooking show on SBS lately and they do some bloody nice food !!!

I'm kind of keen to go but the missus is not at all interested as she thinks it's a bit "scary" etc.

What was your experiences of it ?
What sort of places did you stay in, etc ?

Awesome place to goto, very safe, apart from all the bikes on the road, but you soon get use to it and Taxi's everywhere are sooo cheap.

Food, is some of the best around, I even think the Seafood was better than Melbourne, which isn't hard I guess.

People, are very nice, some places the English isn't that good, but you work it out.

Accommodation, is getting a lot better, but most of the hotels are very clean and cheap. Hoi An/Nha Tran are the beach areas and the resort that they are building are huge.

We started in the North and went to Hanoi, Halong Bay, Hue, Hoi An, Nha Trang & Ho Chi Minh City. Best places where the last three. Too much smog in the North we found.

I have now been to Thailand (only the aussie tourist spot), Bali, Cambodia and Vietnam. And have loved Vietnam and Cambodia, but IMO Vietnam wins purely because of the fantastic food... going back next year

The corridor one, was taken down a alley way at about 9/10pm, he was playing soccer with another kid. No Flash, 50mm lens, iso 800! (on a D80, not a D3s ) It is my favorite photo, getting it enlarged, not sure how big yet because of the noise, but it adds to it imo.

I wonder if any of the Aussie Vietnam vets would recognise the Vung Tau Ferry terminal?

Exactly where did the troops disembark and where did they unload the Landys and Inters?

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.

    Matt,

Have you run it through Capture NX or Photoshop and try reducing the noise.

Great pictures. Just curious why all are B&W?

Put it though noise ninja and it didn't make a great deal of difference.

like b/w atm, there a few in colour but only uploading a few a day.
