Oh you poor thing. Rest ya feet child.
You have a cool job
Long Day and ended up a bit tired but...........................
Drive from home to Katoomba, - Blue Mountains Fire Control.
Get a quick briefing on the Grose Head South Fire, then back to the airbase at Faulconbridge to be dropped in on the fire to do the fire investigation.
Picked up by Helitac 225
A quick couple of circuits to give us the lie of the land (and how steep it is) as well as macro indicators of fire runs
While we did our investigation water bombing continued in (reasonably) close proximity
Kamax water bomber
BK117
Some body though has to absorb the scenery
A few hours later the jobs done and our lift comes back to get us
pick up, is into the hovering machine from a rock in the middle of the Grose River
before dropping us back at the Faulco air base
From there it was back to Katoomba, drop off the sat phone and radios before heading back to Sutherland.
Like I said tough but some one has to do it.

Those Kamax are a wacky chopper... contra-rotating blades, no tail rotor and butt ugly!
220 came over my house yesterday arvo as I was working on the Rangie out the front.
So umm... when do I start?

I tell you what, Bushie, if you get tired of it, I'll do a couple of flights in your place. I work at Springwood so it's no trouble getting to Faulconbridge (next suburb for non-Sydneysiders).
I did my first helicopter training flight last week. I'm not sure I can afford to continue. Actually, I can but can I justify it..... $27K (approx) to get a private pilot's licence is a bit of cash to find).

Ron - you're learning to fly a helicopter. I hope you do better on your first solo than Mr. Edelsten did
