Top shots! I would like see one with the eyes and tongue very sharp
The following pictures are of a friends snake:
This link shows some more of the snake eating its meal of a rat. I hope this doesn't offend anyone's sensitivities, to the snake it is perfectly natural.

Thanks,
I'm going to get some more shots in the next week or two. I'm also going to try and get a shot of the python striking its prey. We caught that on video and it all happened in under a fifth of a second!
It was very difficult to photograph as I was using my 150mm macro for the close shots and had a narrow field of view and a very active snake. One really nice thing about the D3s is the high ISO so I could shoot at a good DOF for close ups and a high shutter speed.

Dm,you could do the old trick, give it a little while in the fridge before you want a few shots, that should slow it down.
But i wouldn't advise doing it before a feeding session,it will lose it's appetite quickly
Good luck
I liked the pictures & i real liked the link you never seem to find good pics of snakes eating .realy enjoyed them thanx...
