We have a 2 second toilet tent. Pops out real easy but is a real marriage tester trying to put it away Suggest you get it down pat prior to using it in public. Mind you that tent looks a lot easier to put away.

as promised see below pics of the Quechua 4 person pop up tent, set up in my back yard.
http://www.aulro.com/app/showphoto.p...-front/cat/500
http://www.aulro.com/app/showphoto.p...t-side/cat/500
It literally takes a couple of seconds to put it up (I'm not exagerating), then what ever time it takes to put in pegs. It has gy-ropes in case it gets windy, and 4 pockets inside for storing small items like watches, small torches etc. It has a built in fly, that I think is detachable.
I intend to only take this tent for 1 and 2 night trips when fair weather predicted. Anything longer and will take the Southern Cross touring tent with the extended back as bigger and can stand up in it.

How good are the Quechua 2" tents?!!! I have a 3 person one bought off eBay, when I got it I thought it wouldn't be warm with fly screen on the inner lining on door, surprisingly it's one of the warmest tents I have ever been in.
Will buy another when/if it breaks or is over used. Paid $180 delivered from some shop on eBay, shipped from china.

Here is our cheap roof tent UK style....
Hey guys, here is our tent we use on the roof and on the floor.
It's super quick to errect at TWO seconds!
Very light
Loads of room for two adults and a fair bit of kit.
very easy to pack up - Takes about 30 seconds!
Best of all is cost.... £25 GBP
The new models are approx £30 GBP
Alot of guys take the rip out of us saying it isnt a real tent but its seen us through 4 european camping trips doing between 4 & 11 countries per trip!
Has seen us through some heavy down pours where camp sites have been washed away - and not leaked.
Its not a permanent heavy fitting when not in use - it lives in the attic!!
Oh yeah, its colour coded to vehicle but that was just a fluke!
The first two pics show our roof tent set up at a couple of stops down in South of France and if I remember correctly Spain.
The next shot shows us parked up at the harbour in Monaco.
(If you look closely in the backdround there is a super yacht with black windows..... No, it's not ours)!!!
The point of this pic is to try and show the benefit of not running a full on roof tent.
Our rack is empty whilst travelling.

Perks to this system are...
All weight is low down keeping a good centre of gravity.
None of our kit gets wet during travel in the rain.
It is more secure as it is inside the vehicle not outside.
Less drag compared to a fold out type roof tent.
An issue for us is vehicle hieght on the cross chanel ferries as we have a lift kit and the roof rack so we only just get through as a "Tall Car". The tarrif shoots up when we have to go in the motorhome section.
Set up is great even if its raining....
It's a quick dash to the rear, open the back door, pull tent out from overhead stotrage, un-zip it and throw it up on top.
At the same time the mrs grabs the self inflating mattresses and pillows and sleeping bags and we jump up and set up beds.
Once we're in there we have room for a good sized bag each but thats usually when we're on the deck.
We even have a portable dvd in there and lie there chilling out after a long day!
It's a cheap alternative which was only ever intended to be a one time stop gap til we chose a Maggiolina or now possibly an Ironman, but to be honest it works so well its now lasted nearly 7 years, 5 Euro trips, and countless trips around England and Wales.
All that said, I'm fortunate that I'm mates with The UK's sole Ironman dealer and he's just shown me the Swag Bags which are totally awesome!!!!
That way if I got a couple then its an Ironman Ice Cube for me all day long!
Chilled beers and steaks where ever we go..... Now you guys know what I'm talking about right?!?!?!?!?

Well we gave our popup tent it's first test.
Unfortunately, it was in a campground of bogans
Anyway it went up & down quicker than a dome tent and was quite comfortable.

I have had a serrengetti travel tramp tent for a long time.
I'ts not the lightest or most compact, but it's easy to put up[5 min] and very sturdy.
I would highly recommend it if you are carrying it around in the car.
