    Flavourwave oven

My partner bought one of these ovens when she first saw one on the shopping channel. It was a buy one get one free deal. now I'm usually pretty sceptical with regards to the quality and reliability of anything that is advertised on the home shopping channel but the Flavourwave has won me over. I'm just expressing my unbiassed view of this product. I don't own shares in the flavourwave company, infact I didn'teven know this product existed until she told me that she has purchsed one.

This is a meal that is prepared tonight and cooked in the flavourwave oven with Minimum Fuss. slice of salmon with pumpkin , sweet potato and some variety of potato and a few other bits, normally I don't like salmon as it is too oily for me , but the flavour oven is magic, by the time the salmon was cooked most of the oil had dripped into the bottom tray. and the skin was nice and crunchy. here is a few photos . It took less than 40 minutes.

    Bon Apetite

You'd need a pretty big gennie Frank, this thing looks like it sucks a lot of power. I think I'd just stick with campoven when I come down to bendethra ,also it takes up too much room in the fourby. I'm Looking forward to cooking a Nice roast with veggies and sit around the fire and enjoy a nice glass of wine.

Josh , seen that Vid . Good old Mr-T , I've tried the Frozen chicken in the Flavourwave oven , mate it comes out nice and Juicy inside but well cooked , I had the oven on 220 * Deg for about 40 minutes.

Not wishing to hijack your thread Khos but visitors to Bendethra might be interested in the following which was posted on the 4WD Association site a few hours ago -

    "CLOSED AREAS
Dry Creek Fire Trail is closed
Dry Creek Fire Trail is closed due to flood damage until further notice. It is closed at the Deua River crossing, near the Araluen Road. It is closed to traffic in both directions. This means vehicles coming from the Dry Creek Camping Area heading to the Merricumbene Fire Trail and from Bendethera vehicles travelling along the Merricumbene Fire Trail to the Araluen Road.
    River Crossings - Bendethera
Due to recent heavy rainfall, the first two river crossings at Bendethera have changed and sections of the river bed have deepened. The NPWS advises that drivers take extreme caution if crossing. If further rain continues to fall and river levels rise, entering river crossings is not advisable. The third river crossing at Bendethera has changed and the river bed has deepened and become very unstable. The NPWS has CLOSED this crossing until further notice. Using this crossing in its current state will only cause further damage and future repairs may be difficult to implement. For more information please contact the NPWS Narooma office on 02 4476 0800 .
Some Fire Trails not suitable for trailer access
NPWS has identified five trails within Deua National Park that are unsuitable for all trailer access, due to the current and increasing cost of road and trail maintenance. This is because of damage to trail drainage structures from the use (or inappropriate use) of 4WDs towing trailers and wheel skidding on steeper sections of trail, lack of traction in wet weather, and towing and winching activities in recovery of stranded vehicles.
The NPWS asks that you keep all trailers away from these identified trails. By doing this you reduce the safety risk to yourself and others, reduce damage to the park environment and your assets, and reduce park maintenance costs – a benefit for us and for you.
These five trails are: Dampier Mountain Fire Trail, Minuma Range Fire Trail, Mongamula Fire Trail, Merricumbene Fire Trail, and Dry Creek Fire Trail. These trails have been sign-posted to show they are not suitable for trailers.
Alternative trailer access to Bendethera camping area is available from Moruya via Little Sugarloaf Road and Bendethera Fire Trail. From Braidwood, this increases travel time by about ½ to 1 hour.
Find out more about trailer access in this park."

Might be worth checking the NPWS website before venturing out.

Roger, thanks for that, the warnings about trailers has been around for over a year now. Last time down Bendethra the river crossings were deeper than usual, looks like one of us is going to get wet, Allan. It's a shame to see Prado's with trailers with ridiculously long drawbars (like most have nowdays) trying to drag their trailers over the Eco drains. With the drawbar grounded and the trailer wheels in mid air, wheel spinning and gouging out the tops of the Eco drains, it had to come to this.
I don't know why people buy these trailers with drawbars longer than the wheelbase of the tow vehicle and expect to take them off road. I know they are easier to back up, but absolutely useless anywhere else. more restrictions on access we don't need, Regards Frank.

It may increase travel time by 1/2 to one hour making the trip about 2 hours, but if you went Dry Creek, Merricumbene, Bendethra FT's it would take at least 6 hours, Regards Frank.

We shouldn't need that third crossing. I usually camp beyond there when I am by myself, but there are plenty of places before that third crossing.

Surely that first crossing won't be as deep or as fast as it was two years ago.

Just spoke to Craig at NPWS Narooma and the first 2 crossings are OK but the third will remain closed till repairs to the bottom and bank are done, some rain predicted (showers) next 2 days, should not affect the water levels, anyway will keep the dust down, Regards Frank.
