Before I became the owner of a Kelly Kettle, I borrowed one of the SS ones sold by Australian Geographic. I found the Kelly Kettle's pan that contained the fire a useful feature and if I had bought the SS one, I would have made such a pan.
We bought one of these while on holidays.
4 Cuppas
Still in the "learn how to use" stage of it's use.
Another aussie brand is the "Royce Rimfire", available in a few capacities. (then again, it looks suspiciously identical to the Eydon SSS, made in China)
Then there's :
Ghillie,
Trangia,
Eydon,
Thermette,
Dingo,
I used a SS Eco Billy that looked a little bit like that one. Whne I got my Kelly Kettle, I found the pan that it used to contain the fire very convenient.
If I had bought one like yours or the Eco Billy, I would have found something that would have done the same job of containing the fire.
I'm another happy Kelly Kettler. I got the big 1.7l SS version along with the SS cooking kit. Having the fire pot on the bottom is handy as you can boil up, and immediately put the kettle back on the fire and boil up again. You can also use the fire pot and grate as a mini wood burning stove.
It's big enough to do four generous cups of coffee, and big enough to boil up water for washing up (boil hot water, put in washing bowl, add cold water ... It's plenty to wash the dishes in for three to four people).
To keep the stink out of the disco, I have a heavy plastic bag placed inside the kettles drawstring bag. Kettle goes inside the plastic bag, then I fold the top of the plastic bag into the kettles chimney. No smell.
The SS Kelly and cooking kit (which packs inside the kettle) wasn't cheap (sent from Ireland) but its a "for life" purchase ....
... And the young kids love being in charge of boiling the kettle :)

Ron, have you tried the yellow pages for a chimney sweep ?
Robert.
Haha...................................'many a true word is said in jest'.
You're supposed to use dry twigs Ron. ;)
Even though it blackens up internally our 'Bush Kettle' doesn't smell any more than a normal billy, possibly less as it's only used with very small/dry twigs. Anything larger diameter than a pencil is way too big. About the size of twigs in Bushie's photo is perfect.
Looks good at night too.
