Jaycar have a unit, only about 500ml, so may be worth a look.
Years ago I had a 12 volt electric jug that plugged into the ciggy lighter, it held about a litre of water. Used to be good on long boring drives if it was raining or at night. It was so quick and easy and convenient to use. I like to stop for a few minutes every two or three hours for a rest and stretch my legs. I find the tea and coffee in truck stops and the like, crap !!!
I forget the figures but I used to plug it in to have it boil at about the time I thought I might need a break. Being used on the move didn't discharge the battery.
Do they still make them and who or where ?
Ta.

Yep, they do.
Ordered a jug and a new 3 amp fused lead online a while ago.
Being air-expressed. All up, 33 bucks !!!
The lead plugs into the ciggy lighter and it will plug straight into my EEE PC/GPS. 12 volt, 3 amp fuse.
I will be able to do away with the bulky inverter and original 240 volt power supply.
I will need to wire in another fused cigarette lighter under the dash.
Think I'm smart now dont I, eh.
Robert.
