    Waterproof roof rack cargo bags

Just been away and am about to put things on the roof rack in the rain!

What waterproof cargo bags do you guys use/recommend?

    Cheers

I rarely need them, but I like the dry bag style bags, if you can find them in a suitable size.

Like these Watertight Bag 30 L

I was lucky to get mine for a ridiculous price on sale, but they certainly do keep things dry. Admittedly, I use mine for clothes mostly - not sure how items of other shape, size and material would go.

Alternatively, many use the Spacecase approach.

We use and sell the Canvas type covers, made for the Wolf boxs but can be used stand alone, amazing things, and water tight...

Rhino rack roof bags (redesinged), or Southern Cross Canvas bags are good.
Used both in storms and kept stuff dry.
Southern Cross are the best, but you pay for it.

+1 on the dry bags, and in particular some of the ones built for kayaks seem to be better suited for roof loading as they sit flatter.

Depending on what you are carrying, barrels also work well:

We have the largest MSA bag available, and wouldn't be without it. Heaps of light but bulky items (notable sleeping bags, pillows, etc.) go up on there, allowing the humans (2 large, 3 small) and 2 canines to fit inside...

Cheers for the info, I'll have a look at the suggested ones tonight.
It's mainly for stuff like small bags, pram, portacot etc. Trying to free up more space inside and not have to worry about it raining.....maybe I should strap the dogs to the roof rack? Free up the boot and they get a wash!

I've been using a southern cross canvas roof bag for a few years. The two height options are handy.

Keeps out the dust, rain and snow.

One tip is to carry a spare buckle clip in glove box. I had to replace one after a guest slammed it in the door

I'd rather get a bag, that way I can leave it in the landy and don't have to have the hassle of bolting it on and off.
