We have two Cobbs and use them for pretty much anything when travelling (and occasionally for a roast at home too).
Off travelling over east and to Tassie for 8 weeks next month, and will no doubt be getting our money's worth out of the Cobbs again.
I like my cast iron camp oven. Belonged to my grandfather. My late mum had it vitreous enamelled about 40 years ago by a firm that restored cast iron baths. Easy to clean.
Can a camp cook hide a bottle of lemon essence or OP rum in a Cobb?
I use a webber babyq cooks everything and the roasts are so easy and good I use it at home instead of the oven.
I just tried the Happy Camper range of meals for the last 10 day trip up to Mt Augustus & back Just pop the unopened bag into the Jetboil for recommended time 10 to 15 mins depending on meal. The Lamb Shanks were delicious, require no refrigeration & if you are real lazy just eat it out of the bag - no washing up except for the fork & spoon:D Also found that Uncle Ben's rice cooks well this way.
