Waeco CFX wireless monitor too bright

Hi all. I have a CFX65DZ in my D2, and a wireless monitor mounted behind the hi/lo stick. The problem is that the display on the monitor is too bright for use at night (I know I can disconnect it but would prefer not to).

I've pulled the monitor apart, and it seems that the blue LED pack sits under the LCD. Has anyone been able to reduce the brightness of the screen?

    Thanks
    Regards, Will

This reminds me of IBM's fix for the speaker on their original portable computer that was too loud whereby a piece of plastic was provided to stick across the front of the speaker.

Hi Will, Bunnings have Aqua Systems indoor/outdoor thermometers with wireless monitors for $9.95, look identical to the Engel and Companion Fridge wireless monitor.

I've had one in our Waeco now for 2 months now with no issues and for $9.95, it's worth a try, they are not very bright either.

I should have stated that I have the Genuine Waeco wireless monitor, and want to use it, just reduce the brightness of the display.

Yes for the CFX models it is @ $50 and it is turn on and play.

Don't know what it would do in a campground where there are multiple CFX fridges in range though? As it seems to just automatically detect and connect.

I'd say they would pick up other fridges unless each fridge has it's own signal, which I doubt, and on that note the Aqua systems one in the above photos has the same frequency as my Companion thermometer and I now have both reading the one wireless monitor that is in the fridge

How about some window tint film across the screen?
