Hmm yes it's a consideration. Theoretically the Ostrich Wing would withstand more wind due to solid welded design. Keen to hear from anyone who has one.
Many years of tarpology have taught me how to rig up a separate tarp and poles - disposable tarps really. ...the question is: does the convenience of a $1500 swing out - wing - style awning outweigh the 20mins it takes to rig an old school $50 tarp? Is it better to drive away with the awning? or leave one set up at base camp?

When I was on fraser last year......there would have been 10+ cars watching the tailor fishing.....all of them had an awning of some description. It started to rain out was set up in seconds, none of the others bothered.m, instead they either huddled against the car down wind or hoped in the car and used windscreen wipers.
