sand spears........
before you all start i know they are illegal to use in some camping grounds
i have one of these Sand Spear Filter - Glind Hot Water Heat Exchanger Camping Showers for 4WD and Marine that i generally throw into a creek/dam for showering etc
might be camping n the beach soon so looking for ideas on how to sink it into the sand

Why are they illegal?
It looks like a fancy foot valve filter. Why though, would you want to suck up salt water from a beach? Although you could do that at various sandy points along the Murray River

No fresh water from the beach......due the everybody crapping and weeing behind the dunes an long with rubbish decomposing it's thought that the water quality is not that good.......20 years ago every deck d camp had a sand spear. Always wanted to give it ago

We put in a sand spear where I last lived for watering gardens.
It had the same kind of wedge wire filter, but was a "proper" spear point, not like that in your link.
These were sunk by pumping water down into the spear while pushing down on the length of pipe attached to the spear point. The escaping water pushes the sand away as you drive it deeper. Ours was down about 6m from memory.
I would think with the one pictured that you would need to dig a hole down to the good water - good luck!
