    CAMPING SAFETY

Several people have been burned when a jerry can exploded when put near a gas fridge! As a long time camper it annoys me when people go camping and leave their brains at home.Same as a while ago when a little girl was burned by an abandoned campfire that had been covered by sand. That fire can smoulder for days. It's good when you see a campsite go up by people who know what they are doing. It goes up quick, goes down quick and when they leave you wouldn't know they'd been thereA quick joke.Family, mum, dad and kids arrive at a campsite. In no time tent is up,kitchen ,set up,kids into it!Bloke next door is watching and asks dad how he gets the kids to help so much."Simple" he replies,"no one goes to the toilet until the camp is set up"

I believe fires on beaches in NSW are banned for that reason, I know that in my area (South Coast) it is a hefty fine if caught, had a number of tragic accidents involving children and covered campfires down here, Regards Frank.
