Rubber hose from the exhaust thru a window?

No I wouldn't do it, but it's a nice thought.

Second thoughts - it wouldn't stop the engine anyway.

Had a couple in a hired LC pull into a campsite at 9 pm at Mitchell falls once hot night, started a big roaring campfire 2 meters from his LC and not in the fireplace, with the wind blowing towards the LC.

    I was hoping.....

Some very creative suggestions coming through..

I was planning on unleashing the kids armed with pots and pans as a personalised wake up service.. luckily for him, he moved off just as the sun rose as there were a lot of very unhappy campers left behind

I have always been brought up around campsites to be considerate of other people and that it is low voices after 9.00PM and before 8AM .. More and more often, campgrounds seem to be taken over by people so "generous" that they have to share their music and drunken singing with the entire campground till at least 1am and then crank up the Duff Duff music for breaky.. This idiot with his engine idling was a new one for me..

I will definitely keep all of your suggestions in mind if it should happen again.. hopefully they will never need to be used in anger - some could be used in fun though

    Cheers

One easter a couple of years ago at inskip point a couple of young families camped over from us,footballers i'd say, nice enough people. But there was one guy who had to talk at almost a shout the whole time, even late at night. The others at night were sort of a murmer then the foghorn would have his say. They bought in a whole trailer full of firewood, which they would start chopping at about 5 every morning.Geez it was peaceful when they left.

In the past where someone in a camper can was being anti social I have just used a tyre valve release tool to let the air out of the tyres on one side. Takes seconds to do. Observation over the years tells me people who sleep in campervans like them to be level Also gives them something constructive to do while they put the air back in.

Some times a camping ground can be self policing. Was in a camp ground a few years ago when late at night a car which for some time had been driving around the camp ground for no reason and far too fast ran into an steel industrial rubbish bin which had mysteriously rolled out on to the road just as they passed.

At the Cooma 60th, a few heated words over some drinks led to some air missing from the tyres of a Toyota Troopy. I wonder if it was that same Troopy owner getting his own back on a Land Rover owner.

since he has soo much fuel to idle the engine all night i think you should of got under there and drained it into some containers to fill yours and anyone else vechiles with the same fuel at the camp grounds.

also some zip ties around the tailshafts would be good too

The sad issue is that particular (pommy ex-pat) actually has/had a Land Rover at the time.

You won't find me on: faceplant; Scipe; Infragam; LumpedIn; ShapCnat or Twitting. I'm just not that interesting.
