Get the blue food grade "Willow" cans from just about anywhere.

I'm after recommendations for some high quality 20 to 30 litre jerry cans for carrying drinking water.
I've tried the cheapish clear plastic ones from the usual camp stores but they break down with UV in time and aren't that strong to begin with. I've also tried painted steel but they always end up rusting in time. I've not tried other plastic types but if a I do they would need to be UV stable, taste free and food grade.
What say you forum?

You can get stainless steel jerry cans. Pricey, but would be the ducks guts IMHO for drinking water.

I use the olive drab ones. They have a small cap on the other side so one can pour without the "glug-glug"

+1 for the olive green ones proquip is a good brand and they do the army ones have tried the blue and clear ones willow and rheem and they only last 1 or 2 years. The ex army ones are about $25 on ebay or disposal stores super cheap have a green one for abput $50 but doesn't look as good as the proquip ones![]()
Thanks people; Some good recommendations here.
I have seen the stainless ones online and agree they look the goods, but ouch to the price. Still, wouldn't mind them.
I'll look into the drab green ones. Do they leave a funny taste?
In regards to the ex army ones on ebay, could they have been used for anything other than water?

I'm leaning towards the proquip army ones. I notice they also do a 'blue tinge' version of their drab green but if it is translucent I'm sure algae would form if it was left long enough in the sun. I am a sensitive petal when it comes to matters of the gut.
Any more rcommendations?
How many do you need?
