    Roof rack awning recommendations

We have decided to purchase one of these and would like to hear from anyone who is happy with theirs.

Easy setup and durability would be high on the priority list and prepared to pay the $$.

    Cheers,
    Paul.

If you want a Awning that will last a very long time and is simple to set up then
the Hannibal one would be first off the block.

No messing about with silly, flimsy legs or guide ropes, Hannibal Awning are fully self supporting.

Long before we used to sell them, I purchased one and I have never looked back Quality product with Australian manufactured Dynaprof Canvas.

Fitted a foxwing over a year ago, awesome coverage and very waterproof. Only issue is putting them up in he wind, you just need two people. I guess that's the penalty for such a big area. The newer version seem to have fixed this issue by fitting flexible knuckle joints.

I would add to the foxwing comments that, notwithstanding it is advertised as stable in winds without guy ropes, do resist the temptation to test it. We set up the foxwing and a gust of wind inverted it breaking the knuckles on the pivot. Thus if there is any risk of wind take the time to run guy lines.

Otherwise it is a great product and offers a massive amount of coverage around the car.

Just went the ARB awning.. Got a brilliant price...

Dont want anything bigger, as we dont park and sit around something like a Supawing/Foxwing is too time consuming and wouldnt get used for that reason..

I really like the Hannibal, but wont be fitting a rack suited to its anchoring.

The ARB Touring job does just fine for shade on a quick stop.
Also got the fly mesh room for those trips where the camper wont come and the swags are out - just for a bit of fly free dining / sleeping

Young fella here at work has a Roo Systems unit which seems well made and a great price - depends on what you want..
