seems a bit like overkill to me, expecially Vs a steel or plastic one.
What do people think of these ? seem like a good idea.
Bit exxy though.

I'd much rather a plastic jerry for water than a metal one of any kind. Plastic ones are more durable (denting, etc)... and quieter when you drop one on the ground.
I'll stick to regular steel Jerrys for fuel. Can't really fault them.
Last a lifetime though, and they would look cool hanging off the back.

there not a bad idea, a bit pricey. 4 of those and you might as well buy an auxiliary tank
That's one possibility (and probably correct). They don't mention what grade of stainless is used either, some grades are more brittle than others and some will corrode reasonably easily.Originally Posted by incisor
The lids look plastic to me and also the rolled base would suggest a design with a seperate bottom so dropping it or dinting the base would not do it much good.
IMHO stick with plastic, much more servicable!

If your seriously considering buying one stainless steel 20 litre jerry can for fuel carrying at $141 please explain why you wouldn't buy 5- 7 plastic fuel carrying 20 litre jerry cans instead.
If you think $141 for a good looking jerry can is worth it please explain why you wouldn't spray paint a plastic jerry can instead
And if your going ahead and buying one or more stainless steel jerry cans please consider donating money to my pleasure fund
