there is bigger vlad ,am currently in negotiations for a 24 litre "jobbie" of ebay for $125 plus postage,tis a companion brand ,so tis a well known variety,since we will be away from toilet blocks this trip to fraser ,had to keep the cook and little miss happy :angel: :D
Mrs Vlad won't touch (literally) a second-hand one. She has this thing about it, which fortunately (and illogically) doesn't extend top not using public toilets etc. That would be even more weird. It's just a shi tter for heaven's sake. She just wants a NEW one to start with.
Yeah the real crux of my questions is what capacity one is ideal.
ALso latest BCG catalogue has a combo of:
1 x portapottiew (or simialr brand)
1 x 12V shower (type that uses a bucket)
1 x double tent (1 side for dunny 1 for shower)
price is $300. So those tents must be pretty expensive (it is a fancy type of reasonably good construction it seems).
Perhaps more than I wanted to spend but then again a porta loo isnt much use without a tent to put it in, is it ?!
I can't see the value in the double tent - one at a time should be fine.
My parents swapped from a larger capacity to smaller portapotti in their camper for storage reasons - and even in a few days away they never got near full capacity.
Will you need to buy a new one every time you travel? Or is it only second-hand if somebody else uses it?

Good chemicals reduce everything to slush which is easily disposed of. i.e dig hole, open drain on loo, tip out - done.
I got one $20, basically NEW (haha) from some RRCQ folk who "upgraded" their caravan - as you do:rolleyes:
It's great for us as we camp anywhere - but SWMBO likes a toot - and it's good for the little ones. The small one has about 10l fresh water, 10l waste capacity. Good for about 30 flushes.
DO NOT USE WIPES though:( :toilet: They don't break down (obviously) and clog, then it's a holdbackthehurl-whilstyou unclog and unbog mission.
Me - I still use the tools entrenching - bog burying - green - one - troops - for the use of:D
Particularly after a night on the Guinness and bacon & egg breaky

thats not too bad a deal vlad,just bought a twin ensuite shower tent for $80 brand new Oz Trail brand from a friend who knows the big fella at the company,normally around the $120 mark,the porta loo is a new one thru an ebay campgoods seller,and as for the shower ,would like to see that and how much as they are available via ebay but have a huge postal tag,would like to see a comparison to see if the postage would even out the price if even then would be better than travelling all the way to town for one:cool:Quote:

It has been a few years since we lived in caves I spose.:D :D ;)
We had one with a frame, plastic bags and a seat which was supposed to clip to the frame. This was only for emergencies when towing the van around and I had just such an emergency when travelling to Broome a year or so ago.
We'd pulled into an overnight stop on the Great Northern Hwy (Bea bea site I think it was) and there were already folks there and no real shelter for a quiet bit of contemplation so the cook suggested I hide in the van and do it.
This I did and kept the screen door open so I didn't suffocate and got on with the job. Things proceeded quite well until the cook shouted "Here comes a bloke with another Disco" and I just knew he was going to stop for a chat!
I tried to hurry, the bog collapsed and I sat in what I'd just produced!!! There I was desperately trying to clean myself, the cook was trying to explain where I was and keep the nosey (and he really was) bloke from poking his nose in the van.
Eventually I staggered out hoping I didn't stink too much and after much lie telling he cleared off.
Then all I had to do was clean the mess up I'd caused, wash the carpet and then continue on our way.
We've now got a Bi-pot of 11ltrs capacity because it fits well in the hold when the camper is closed.
And it won't collapse under me........
