    40th Anniversary Engel

I have a 40th Anniversary Engel that has a digital temp readout.

I changed the battery for the display and now the temp is on fulltime
    even when turned off

Anyone else have the same thing happen to them, or suggestions please...

Yep, it's on fulltime regardless of the engel being switchd on. Must just run off the battery, no switch.

Good stuff but aint they. Only thing better would to have got me hands on one of those stainless models they did for a limited time. Fisheerman I know has a 60L one. The best thing about them is they are completely square inside, so easy to clean.

I have a habit of exploding beer in the engel, and they are a pain in the but to clean.

yes...the thermometer is on permanently.....not unlike a digital clock......

the battery is easy enough to change and obtain......its a common size......

the best thing about it being on even if the fridge is off is that you always know what the temp is inside it......

you dont have to turn it on to find out.......

also.....if the thermometer had a on/off switch......i know of at least one person that would forget to turn it off.......

Have one of those too, and same as everyone else says, it's on all the time. What's this about exploding beer, never have that trouble. Methinks someone must have it set too cold. We never use ours as a freezer and have it set so it cycles between 1.5 and 4 degrees.
