You might consider trying one of the larger hardware outlets. They usually have similar units to what you are looking at on ebay but usually carry the backup of a replacement warranty should something go wrong. Price may even be less that ebay.

the very same one can be had from supercrap. bunnings, camping stores and sometimes even Kmart.

I have on and its good for about 700w worth of halogen emergancy lighting as max load and it drives my 30amp battery toasting charger without any dramas.

A recent post by Brian Hjelm noted he has an hour-meter on his and it has over 500 hrs up with no problems.

I got mine at Bunnings - $99 for the 850 watt unit.

What size and type of battery are you wanting to charge and for what purpose is it used for.

HI baz,I wont to be able to charge a n70zz battery's I am running a fridge the second battery's same size.........I,ll be camping for about 7 night over Xmas holidays,and wont to be able to keep the battery top up..........regards keith

The chink gensets are ok, I bought one 2 years ago, it ran hard for three hours was turned of and never started since, it ran 3 100watt floodies no probs, must try and get mine going I want to permanently mount it in the Landy in a box somewhere, u introduce the smallest bit of crud into the fuel system and they play up, this is where mine has the problem, in the carby, they are easy to work on though, change the chink plug from first start.

These gen sets are fine if you want to run a battery charger, just do your self a favor and get a charger with reasonable amp rating. Do not under any circumstances run your fridge stright of these cheaper gen sets ! if you want to do that spend the extra and but a inverter geni.

I thought the Chinese plug on mine looked a bit cheap and nasty, so I looked on the internet and got the crossover to Champion and put one in. Result- oiled the Champion in two hours. Reinstalled the Chinese plug and no trouble ever. I would recommend these little generators to anyone. Mine has been a little gem. I use it to run 12 volt refrigerator and fluoros when camping. I have used it at home to run two 240v. lights and a tv after a blackout caused by a thunderstorm. Has also been used to run a 16mm chuck AEG 240v. drill no problem, a heat gun on low setting but it wont tackle high setting. It came with a battery charging lead but I have never yet had to use this. It will not start either of our domestic refrigerators. If I have to buy another I will get one with sufficient capacity to start & run at least one domestic refrigerator in case of a prolonged blackout. A friend at Winton has an opal lease down towards Jundah and now has three of these. One ran continuously for three months, he tells me, powering his Engel which he uses for a deep freeze at the mine camp.
