has anyone actually checked how many amps their fridge uses?
i've just checked mine and its drawing 2.5, is this normal?
Depends on what the nameplate (watts) the fridge is rated at
If you take the basic cals that
watts divide by volts = amps
volts multiply by amps = watts
Therefor is you take the approx volts at 12.5v and you are pulling 2.5 amps - then the fridge would - should be rated at 31.25 watts
Measure the volts acurately - they you will know if its normal or not
2.5amps is as per Engel spec...
Hey Tombie
The answer is no.

I think amp draw is "up to" 2.5 amps. It's all dependent on ambient anyway, but ours draws less than 2.5 most of the time, as we have managed over 3 days running on one battery, and still managed to start the car.
