I agree not what you'd call a small tent when folded. With ours I have the side awning + a lantern stand in the same bag. What other tent on the market can you fit extra stuff in the bag?

Some friends of ours bought an Oztent. I'm not sure what model.. maybe a 4 man. Anyway, they tour with us on our yearly trip. They have a classic rangie and the thing runs from the back window and pokes through into the front seats between them. They have to look at each other over or around the tent! That there is crazy stuff.
Oztents are only suitable for people with roof racks...
First off I have little experience camping in Australia - most of my camping has been done in the norther hemisphere in Europe and Africa.
However, Now Sydney based I am looking to get a new tent and like most have quickly narrowed the choice down to either the Black Wolf Turbo 240, Turbo Lite 240 or the Oz tent RV-3 or 4.
During all my reading no-one mentions condensation and the fact that the Oztents are only single walled. I believe the Black Wolf's have liner and fly.
The question therefore is how much of an issue is condensation? Experience has taught me that double skinned tents are the answer to combatting this problem.
Whilst the BW and Oztents may not leak from the outside, do either produce condensation on the inside over night?
Maybe in Asutralia this isnt a problem?
My camping will range from the desserts of WA to the more mountanous areas outside of Sydney, during all times of the year.
Should this form part of my decision making process of which tent to buy?

G'day Jon,
I posed the same question a couple of years ago, the thread's here.
I think the general consensus is that condensation can occur in the Oztents, but no worse than other tents. Keeping the tent ventilated, and using a fly, can help reduce the condensation.
Cheers
Sean
I tend to get quite bad condensation on my double walled tents and virtually none with my Oztent. I think the canvas breathes and reduces the buildup.
Hi Jon...I have had my RV5 in all sorts of conditions, summer..winter....dry.......belting down with rain....and little to no issue with condensation. Also the Oztent does have a fly....as per the picture below:

Steveo,
thanks for the pic and feedback.
Slightly different question, but who makes / where did you get the gray box at the side of your tent (beneath the Jerry)? I'm looking for something similar.
Thx
Jon
