    Unwelcome guests inside your swag

I was wondering if you guys ever encounter unwelcome guests inside your swags?

We have the famous Camel spider and a certain amount of scorpians around at night in our desert which puts me off camping under the stars in just a sleeping bag.
    Am I being over cautious?

    Thx.

    ps. Sleep tight!

if your swags a decent one with an internal fly thats not a problem.

I also generally swag up on top of a vehicle or trailer which helps keep the bities at bay.

I was camped up at Hummocky Beach (near Starke River) Cape York, a few years ago and got a large centipede inside my swag. I woke up and felt it crawling over my neck. I brushed it off but it bit me in the process. Had a sore neck for a few days afterwards. Turned out that it came from the bloke who was sleeping beside me. It crawled onto him first and he flicked it off and it landed on my swag.

Never had the problem, although in my younger days I have slept quite often on the ground with just a swag - and never anything as elaborate as the modern ones.

I think the odds are pretty much against anything getting in with you, although I would make sure you didn't do anything as silly as camping on or close to an ant's nest.

I'm the same. I just drag the swag out next to the fire and the only thing that seems to be annoying is mozzies.

Well since, unlikeours, your scorpions are actually deadly to people I;d get a swag with a mesh screen in it, as mentioned. I have one and they are great - especially for the most common problem here which is... mozzies.
