Took this photo in 2007 coming home after another exploritory trip in the Pilbara. One camper threatened to take an axe to the w/machine and generator!
    He got the message.

I don't see a problem unless the generator is excessively noisy. Bet the mining companies and their staff dump worse than a bucket of suds in the river.

Since dumping has been brought up, the rivers in W.A. are checked regularly for contaminents and the fines are heafty - even for an individual.
Now for the case at hand.
    The River was not flowing.
    Kids were swimming in it.
There are fish - yes eatable size.
You blokes might do this over East however, there is a camping code of conduct. It helps to keep our rivers clean for future generations and no I am not a greeny - common sense prevails.
While I am at it This character came from that small
    state on the southern mainland.
Type this ito Google "camping code of conduct"

Yes I am grumpy over this type of thing!

I thought soapy water was toxic to fish.

A lot of trouble to go through to wash a shirt I would have thought.

Yes it is disturbing but running an outboard from a tinnie does way more harm, does anyone cry wolf for that?

I do belief that in years to come the rivers will be protected and there will be no boating aloud, pumping or general contamination happening.

Houseboats on the river murray for example will be extinct and so will ski boats and PWC.

Sad to see but its a sign of the times and we are to blame.

I agree and this bloke is obviously a few cents short of a dollar.

I agree Big Guy that outboards are a problem especially in rivers. I think that every boat on a river, maybe the ocean as well, will have an electric motor and will have a restrictor on them to 5 knots to stop bank errosion. Anything without a restrictor would not be permitted on any river. I believe that two strokes could be phased out here in W.A.
