    Replacement tube for Versa Lite

Does anyone knnow who would stock a replacement tube for a Versa Lite ( or Piranha ) 12V camping light ?

I could go to Piranha but looking for something more local.

It is an "Osram Dulux 8 11W/21-840"

I'd be having a look in Bunnings (as a starting point). They seemed to have a good range of fluro tubes etc last time I was in the local one.

The only 12v tubes I've found at Bunnings are the Nelson brand with ES or BC fittings (as mentioned in other threads on here for self made camping lights).

If you end up heading for piranha Wayne, try this place just around the corner from Piranha ... if only just to check the price. They've had stock of some obscure globes and tubes I've needed in the past.

Also, myself or one of the other members around here might be able to call in for you if you haven't got it sorted before the next time we meet.

I'll go up to Boronia Piranha then next week, trouble is I'll probably end up spending way more than I intended ( hmmmm solar panels )

Well watdy'a know ... had to go to Bunnings today for something, took a look in their lighting section on the off chance - and they DO have one that fits.
    Phillips 11W/827.
It's a "warm white" rather than the "cool white" of the original one, but the light output seems as good.
    $8.95 - I'm a happy camper

I've been using one of those new fangled 11W 240V non-incandescent globes (warm white 2700 degK) with a 150 W inverter... cheap and cheerful and excellent light with min. battery drain compared to a 60W 12V incandescent... just gotta remember it IS 240V and take appropriate safety precautions...

Bunnings Fountain Gate is my local. Had to look a bit for them. Only two in stock - obviously not a hot seller.
I'm going to get another one for my ARB Adventure light, ( Versa Lite copy ) which ( hopefully ) uses the same tube.

Looking at the package that my Versa_lite came in, it says that it is *important* to only replace with Osram Dulux-S11W or GE BIAX F11/BX. Of course they don't explain why it is important. :-(

    Best Wishes,
    Peter

Yeah, I do not know why it is but I was sold an equivalent in another brand and it buggered my Versalite.
