    Hi Garry

Slightly old post but am considering a cheapo Ebay fridge too. How's yours going now? There are quite a few similiar models for sale. Does yours have any branding etc that I might be able to find on ebay?

    Thanks

Still going strong - used it for the last 3 weeks while working away from home. The only issue is that no one seems to make generic insulation bags (market opportunity here) so will make my own.

Mine has no branding and I cannot remember from which site I got mine but is still quiet and used minimum power. If it breaks (and there is no sign of that) I will just throw it away and get another one - still cheaper than getting a basic repair on an Engel.

My Mobicool is still getting a hard time in different vehicles and it still working very well.
It was purchased at K mart for a song and has been easier to live with than a more expensive Primius stainless steel fridge I have because it doesnt have the fancy electronics to play up if the power supply is not the best.
I feel a Ebay purchase of a chinese fridge is a good bet.

Hey guys just an update, and a thanks for you info too.

I bought one of these Tomahawk Easy Cool 80l jobs back in November.
    dreamrideronline | eBay
    It's 55l fridge & 25l freezer.
Got it for about $700 delivered
Works a treat, have had it on several camping trips and up the beach many times, from chilly weekends recently to stinking hot days in summer, it worked great.
Low draw, quick to get temps down intitially and well designed.
We're really happy with thus far, and I couldn't fault it, nor justify paying 3 times as much for something similar. (Hope I'm saying the same in years to come!)

    Hi FenianEel,
just started researching fridge/freezers and came across the one you bought dreamrideronline | eBay it's even cheaper now, how is your's going? From the past posts you've had it about a year now is that correct. What is it like on 12V? How big is your battery, do you have solar, can it be used for extended stops in the bush? Thanks Chris

Still love it, and still works a treat. Got a 60ah battery and that does us most trips, no worries.

Still going great. Did a week on Moreton with it over Xmas, all good. Fits great in the rear of the d2, I use existing cargo tie down points on the left hand side. I secure it around the handles with Just straps FS25, fridge straps, works a treat.

    Thanks for that.

Does it fit the same orientation as say a 47ltr engle on a frige slide. Ill get the dims and measure it up, but you cant do better than first hand knowledge.

Do you have a cargo barrier installed?
