    I think you will be happy with the gas unit, heating water with 12V is not the best use of electricity in remote locations.
    I was told there is as much energy in a 9kg gas bottle as an 11 tonne battery - not a clue how that was worked out or even if it is accurate, but it does add a bit of emphasis to illustrate one advantage of gas vs 12V for heating.
