Thread: Black Wolf Turbo Lite 240/300 Twin

From memory Anaconda had them set up - that was last July though.

I have a Turbo 210 which is good for the two of us.

I've had a Turbo lite 270 for a year now and love it. Plenty of room (1 big adult and 2 biggish teenagers). Dead easy to erect and pack up.

Most importantly it'll fit in the back of the D3.

Yep no experience with the twin version but a Turbo 300 is a great bit of kit. Proper canvas as opposed to the dome tent style material of the turbo lite.

Anyone put a family of 5 in a Black Wolf Turbo 300 which is around 3m x 3m for 3-4 days?

Last year there was a family of 6 camped near us at Denham in a Black Wolf Turbo Light 300 with extra fly and extensions. All I can recall was they had 4 young kids and the tent covered an awful lot of space with at least an extra fly attachment.

In general terms if a tent is designed for 2 more people than you want to sleep in it you are well and truly OK. Although with two people you can usually get away with a 3 man tent the rule doesn't apply as such to the larger tents as you tend to have more baggage in the tent.

You may want to consider two tents so there is a degree of separation. Also have you looked at the OzTent?

You could do it but you'd want some space set up outside. Here's us at Fraser Is in Oct on the Turbo lite 270.

How old are the kids? A mate of mine uses two OzTents facing each other with the awnings connected together with a special bit and end walls on one side. A great setup with mum & dad in one end, communal area in the middle and kids in the other end. Over $2k worth but a much better idea than shoe horning 5 and gear into one tent.
Me & SWMBO have a Black Wolf turbo 240 which we used on our Kimberley trip 2 years ago and it was brilliant. On the same trip my mate had a single OzTent which he was very happy with.
I liked the Black Wolf better than the OzTent as a single stand alone tent because I'm 6' and it annoyed the crap out of me brushing my head on the OzTent awning all the time. Also the Oztent packs up to about 6' long as opposed to the Black Wolf which fitted across the rear floor of the D2.

Just looking at the oztrail site at the moment. The oztrail Tourer 10 plus
OZtrail Leisure Products - Outdoor, Camping and Leisure Products
might fit the bill or perhaps a couple of the smaller oztrails. The oztents look great and get their share of great reviews but recon I'd be looking at 2 tents for a family of 5 which there would me much change from $2k.
