Don't know about rpm @ 100 (will be less than 3k though), but try some quality leather conditioner on your front seats. Can work wonders.

Go to an equestrian supplies store and get some good quality saddle soap. Do NOT use neatsfoot oil.

If the seats are gone, the only thing that will really help is new leather.
It will be around $500 per seat for good stuff and the headlining be $450.
These are figures I paid to have mine done and are worth eavery penny.

Mine sat on 2000rpm at 100km/h.

Make sure the tranny locks out in fourth, it feels like an extra gear when it does.

My 85 3.5 5 speed manual does 2550rpm at 100kph, so yours should be around 25-27 hundred if the auto is OK

Mine seems to sit at 2800rpm at 100kph and the you can feel the tranny converter lock in as RPM locks at 2800.
Very confusing, it has had new Auto(60,000ks old), New Viscous transfer(75,000Ks old) and new rear diff at same time( Coupling locked and diff was damaged).
Perhaps Tacho is out? or diff ratio changed?

could just need a good tune-up and the timing set correctly, there should be a couple of very talented people down your way maybe something as simple as a dragging handbrake.

My Rangie is a 1994 soft dash too, an LSE actually but that should make no difference to engine RPMs at any given speed.

I took mine for a drive this evening and at a steady 100 kmh my tacho is showing 2050/2100 rpm - difficult to ascertain accurately due to the short spacings on the tacho dial. My Rangie is also running on standard 205 x 16 tyres and factory alloy rims.
