    Air filter pods

Is it possible to replace the air filter box on my 76 door with filter pods? If so, what sort and where from here in brissy?

If the speed of light = 299,792,458 m/s, what is the speed of dark?

    Ah, the benefits of age.

Some people actually did dyno tests on this many years ago and found that it was better to leave the elbows on the carbs for power at lower revs.

I used Unifilter socks on mine straight from the carbs. You could get ones that just slipped over and were held with zip ties. . You may find a bonnet clearance problem unless you use offset cones.

    G'day Armadillo

When I got my 85 it had unifilters on it, they are now in the shed, and original large filter refitted, it runs a lot more evenly and has better low down torque, all in all a smoother vehicle to drive, as the carbies need a little negative pressure to run smoothly, the correct oil in the dash pots aids this.

    cheers

Guess my question has been answered and I'll be sticking with the original gear.
    Thanks all.

Offender90 bought a donaldson filter housing and element recently for a good price for his V8 90 (EFI). It has a much bigger surface area than either the EFI or Carb filter setups. I have not measured, but I would wager it has a significantly lower pressure drop but still a hiigh efficiency (unlike a pod filter).
